Janovicky
The nearest ski area in Janovicky is located about 10 km from Božanov. This is an ideal area for the novice skier or snowboarder.
In the ski resort Janovicky are three lifts and three slopes, one of which is red and two blue slopes.
In the area there is the possibility to follow ski or snowboard lessons for both children and adults from beginning to advanced. Material can also be rented here, such as skis, snowboards, helmets, cross-country skis and sleds.
On the slopes are several cozy restaurants with breathtaking views over the Broumov valley and the ski area. This area is snow-sure, snow cannons are available if necessary.
The ski pass, equipment hire and the food and drinks are very good to pay, which makes it attractive to enjoy a wonderful winter sports holiday with the whole family. Furthermore, there are several smaller ski areas in the vicinity of Police nad Metuji, Teplice nad Metuji and Machov.
Zieleniec
Zieleniec is a larger ski area in Poland, located 38 km from Božanov. Zieleniec Ski Arena is one of the best and largest ski resorts in Poland. A big advantage of the ski area is the snow certainty and if necessary snow cannons are used.

Zieleniec Ski arena is generally open from the beginning of December to the end of March.
The ski area has 29 ski lifts and there are 22 km of runs with different lengths and levels of difficulty. The area is therefore very suitable for both beginners and advanced skiers. The lifts are open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Broumovske Steny
The village of Božanov is located under the Broumovske Steny mountain ridge. This region is rich in culture and nature with a varied landscape of lovely farmland, dense forests and rugged rock formations. The environment wins the hearts of its visitors through peace, beauty and untouched nature. In winter this is a beautiful area for cross-country skiing and offers many cross-country skiing trails.

Cross-country skiing without cross-country trails is also very popular here. Drawing your own track in a thick pack of snow is the primal form of cross-country skiing and gives you the opportunity to get to the most beautiful spots.
In addition, this area is also ideal for hikers. Many hiking trails are tracked in the winter and are easily accessible. The unique rock formations look spectacular in the winter with a lot of snow on the tops.
National park Adrspach en Teplice

The National Park of Adrspach and Teplice, located about 20 km from Božanov, is a vast area of rugged sandstone rock formations. These sandstone rocks sometimes reach a height of 100 meters. The park is also open in the winter and the trails are easily accessible. Walking through this special area is romantic and fairytale in the winter.
Giant Mountains
The Giant Mountains are located about 50 km west of Božanov. This protected National Park is one of the largest in Central Europe. The Giant Mountains are the largest and highest mountain range in the Czech Republic with the highest peak at the Snezka 1602 meters. In this area you will find the larger ski areas Mlade buky, Zacler and Janske Lazne, which can still be reached from Božanov. In Janske Lazne there is a descent especially for sledding.
